Two Arrested In Connection With Oroville Homicide

Two people, who authorities believe fled the state, were arrested in Wisconsin Sunday in connection with the body of a woman found near Oroville last month.

Detectives with the Butte County Sheriff’s office arrested 46-year-old William Smith and 54-year-old Julie Moss in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Sunday in connection with the presumed homicide of Angela Murray. Murray’s body was found Nov. 14 south of Oroville near the 600 block of Dunstone Drive. She turned 40 this year.

All three were described as transients. Their relationship and what led up to the death remains unclear. The Sherriff’s Office is requesting that murder charges be filed against the two. Smith and Moss are currently being held on bail awaiting extradition.
