The Camp Fire is currently fully contained. At the latest report from the Butte County Sheriff's Office Sunday night the death toll stands at 85. The number of unnaccounted for is 296.

In an online video, acting Public Information Officer for the Town of Paradise Matt Gates said while the fire is 100 percent contained there is still a massive recovery effort going on to make the community safe.

“At this time there is no estimate as to when the evacuation zones will be lifted so we can return back to our homes,” Gates said. “My team is sharing as much information as possible. The magnitude of this response is extensive and we want to make sure you stay in the loop.”

Today U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke are in Butte County meeting with community leaders, survivors and firefighters and assessing the damage of the fire.

Cooperating agencies of the Camp Fire will hold a press conference this evening in Chico according to a press release from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Harvest Hall on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. It will be broadcast live via the Butte County Sheriff Facebook page and we'll share it on NSPR's Facebook page, technology permitting.

Tonight NSPR will also air the first episode of After Paradise. A half-hour program dedicated to post-Camp Fire recovery efforts. The program will be hosted by Tess Vigeland, veteran journalist and former anchor for public radio’s Marketplace. After Paradise will bring the community the latest from city and county officials, rescue organizations, financial planners, experts in crisis trauma and local reporters who’ve been on the ground since day one. Listeners can submit questions they would like answered from officials at mynspr.org or by leaving a voicemail for possible air by calling: 530-433-4887. The program airs at 6:30 p.m. each weekday.
