Halloween started off with a smash today at Chico State.

The 34th annual Pumpkin Drop took place at the university this afternoon, which is put on by the Society of Physics Students and the Department of Physics.

Hundreds of kids from local schools were in attendance watching pumpkins being tossed off a crane from 50 feet in the air and learning the science about how and why gravity works.
