More than 3,000 people filled the streets of Chico on Saturday as part of a nationwide movement of “No Kings” demonstrations. Protesters marched from the iconic "Our Hands" sculpture throughout downtown, calling attention to what they say are growing threats to democracy under President Donald Trump.
Organizers chose June 14 — which is Flag Day and Trump’s birthday — to stage protests across the country.
The event coincided with a military parade in Washington, D.C. that critics say draws parallels to authoritarian displays of power.
