A familiar voice of North State Public Radio is bidding the station farewell.
NSPR’S Continuity Host Alisa Tousey has signed off to move on to another venture.
Tousey joined the station in 2022 amid COVID-19 restrictions after finding the job listing online.
“I thought to myself, I have a theater degree, and I am good at talking and reading scripts. Maybe this is something that I could do,” Tousey said.
Now, four years later, she’s also the co-owner of Freebird Yoga Studio and Aerial Arts in Chico, which is opening a second location.
“I couldn't juggle two things or sort of have my energy split in two places, so that did lead me to the decision,” Tousey said. “But I am very excited for everything that we are building over there.”
She said her time at NSPR has been a privilege she can’t measure with words, thanking the station’s listeners.
“I am gonna miss keeping you guys company,” Tousey said. “That's really meant a lot to me when people come up to me, and they tell me that they just really like how I keep them company during the day, and I'm gonna miss that a lot.”,” Tousey said.
