Claudia Brancart
ReporterClaudia covers local government at North State Public Radio as part of UC Berkeley’s California Local News Fellowship. She grew up in the rural farming community of Pescadero, California, and graduated from Pitzer College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
For the last three years, Claudia has worked at NPR stations in the Midwest, including as a talk show producer at KCUR in Kansas City, Missouri, and as a news intern at WDET in Detroit. She pursued a career in journalism because she believes everyone deserves to have their stories told. Plus, the world can be a confusing place, and she hopes her reporting empowers individuals to make decisions in their daily lives.
When not working, you can find Claudia reading a novel, jumping into a natural body of water and talking to her orange cat, Archie.
