Blue Dot 222: The Climate Change Panel

NASA

Host Dave Schlom convenes a panel of experts on something that is the most important topic of the 21st century: climate change.

Ellery McQuilkin, a recent guest on the show for her brilliant work on a receding Sierra Nevada glacier joins Dave as a special guest co-host. With his 16-year-old protégé on board, the pair discuss our imperiled climate with NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center research meteorologist Lesley Ott, NASA/JPL climate scientist Josh Willis and California drought expert William Patzert.

Dave Schlom is the longtime host and creator of Blue Dot. From surfing to Voyager in interstellar space, rock guitar to orcas in our imperiled oceans, the topics on Blue Dot are as varied as the host’s interests and connections -- which are pretty limitless! An internationally respected space history journalist, Dave is also deeply fascinated by all aspects of the grand workings of nature’s awesome machinery on scales ranging from galactic to subatomic. And topics take in all aspects of the arts and sciences.
