Dave talks to the three winners, out of 14,000 entrants for the 2021 Future Engineers/NASA Artemis Moon Pod Essay Contest. Austin Pritts, Taia Saurer, and Amanda Gutierrez were the respective winners for the K-4, 4-8, and 9-12 grade levels for their short essays imagining what it would be like to lead a group of Artemis astronauts or a pod, to the South Polar region of the Moon for a future mission.
That their essays were outstanding is obvious but what is also amazing is that the three of them are wonderful ambassadors for the space program and the future. Bright, engaging, and full of enthusiasm, Dave thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and you will too!
Also appearing at the top of the show is Deanne Bell, the founder, and CEO of the Future Engineers program that created the contests to name the Mars 2020 rover and the Artemis Moon Pod Essay.
