Host Dave Schlom is joined by special guest and co-host Katie Mackey Harris for a look at the world of aquaculture in the western United States. Harris is the President and General Manager of Mt. Lassen Trout, a family-owned company and trout farm operation in Northern California.

After learning a bit about Katie's background as a fish farmer, Dave and Katie visit with Dr. Jesse Trushenski, Chief Science Officer for the Riverence group of aquaculture companies based in Washington and Idaho. Trushenski dispels some common myths and discusses what's on the cutting edge of fish farming in the U.S. and how aquaculture is a viable solution to help feed a hungry planet.

In the final segment, Katie and Dave are joined by Dr. Jackson Gross, UC Davis Extension Aquaculture Specialist who discusses the diverse world of aquaculture and how applied science is enhancing sustainable practices.
