Acclaimed musical-comedy Monty Python’s SPAMALOT is a stage adaptation of the film classic “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” and explores King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. The 2005 Broadway musical was nominated for 14 Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical.

Legendary Kanekoa is one of Hawaii’s premier musical experiences. The Hawaiian ukulele innovators consistently sell out shows in their home state, playing what they call ukulele-powered Hawaiian jam-rock. They play a wide variety of styles and have even been dubbed the “Hawaiian Grateful Dead” by an actual member of the Dead.

Plankton Wat, a known artist in today's psychedelic underground, will be playing alongside visuals from experimental films by pioneering underground filmmaker Maya Deren. Also joining the bill is Chico artist and filmmaker Vik Whistle with his very own experimental/psych music and visuals.

The weather should be perfect for hanging out in Bidwell Park and eating ice cream under the summer sun. That’s exactly what the Nature Center Ice Cream Social is all about—eating Shubert’s Ice Cream, exploring the wonder that is Bidwell Park, and touring the Janeece Webb Living Animal Museum.
There will be crafts and games for all ages, and the MONCA bus will be there with art activities for kids.

Cal Skate announced in July that it has been sold to new owners and will undergo renovations, and that the final day of operations under its current ownership will be Sunday, Aug. 16. In light of the announcement, the home of our NorCal Roller Derby team is now in limbo.

This weekend is your chance to support the team in the place they’ve called home for years. As of now, this will be their last game at the legacy Cal Skate location.
