Oroville’s Birdcage Theatre is hosting Marilyn Nash Night, welcoming attendees to a celebration of the Hollywood actress and theatre co-founder who made Oroville her home. The featured film, "Monsieur Verdoux," launched her career and paired her with icon Charlie Chaplin.

If you’re looking to add a little pep to your step, look no further. Dance instructor Kenya Slaughter is currently teaching Beginner Dance and Step Aerobics classes at Creed Strength and Fitness in Chico.

Slaughter has been dancing professionally since age nine and has taught dance in Chico for years. She credits dance with building her discipline and self-confidence.

The art of dance is an ever-present force in Slaughter’s life. She says that beyond its physicality, dance is a powerful art form that nourishes the soul. If you are looking for adult movement classes, check out her courses.
