Laura has reported on the city of Oakland’s land back policy efforts, the 2022 UC-wide strike of graduate student workers, unionization efforts for workers in California’s State Capitol, and more. Prior to her work as a journalist, Laura was a legislative staffer in the California State Assembly where she worked on policies pertaining to elections, voting rights, and campaign finance disclosure. Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from UC Davis and her master’s in Journalism from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
