After surviving a horrific car crash, a young piano student from Berlin wakes up in an unknown house in the countryside, where a local woman cares for her with motherly devotion. The student slowly becomes a part of the lives of the woman, her husband and their son, despite the initial reluctance of the two male family members. They begin to find a strange harmony together, but ghosts from their past complicate this modern gothic fairytale directed by Christian Petzold.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to Chico, bringing an exciting selection of films. The lineup features stories of remote journeys, pioneering expeditions and cutting-edge adventures, all shared through the perspectives of international photographers, filmmakers and explorers. There will be a party on the patio at 6 p.m. both evenings, with live music, local sponsors and food trucks onsite.

Musical worlds unite when Chico’s Debajito and Suika T take the stage. Debajito brings the world sounds of cumbia, hip-hop and afrobeats. Suika T adds Latin-fused psychedelic-cumbia pop. Prepare for a lively night of rhythm and movement at this family friendly venue.

The Cosmic Cowboys, a group of seasoned Chico-area musicians, tackle the country and western scene. They blend different sounds like jump swing, classic country and outlaw country for a unique listening experience.

The festivities this year will include a performance by the Whiskey River Band, along with over 40 different beers and various food options. The Chico Noon Exchange Foundation organizes the Brewfest and all proceeds go to local charities they support, which focus on veterans, patriotism and the prevention of child abuse.

Thursday Night Market returns to downtown Chico and is expanding onto Main Street, allowing more space for vendors and live music. This year will also feature monthly themed experiences with interactive spaces, as well as more activities for children.
The opening theme is "Health and Wellness,” with a lineup of local organizations participating and sharing information, including Partnership.

We hope you’re ready for colorful skies. The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) is hosting its annual Kite Day. Bring the family and enjoy a day filled with kite flying, delicious food trucks and children's activities. Free kites will be provided while supplies last, so be sure to bring your own if you have one.
