Best of Nancy's Bookshelf: Joan Ryan and team chemistry in sports

Joan Ryan is an award-winning journalist and author. She was one of the very first female sports columnists in the country and has covered every major sporting event.

Her accolades include thirteen Associated Press Sports Editors Awards, the National Headliner Award, and the Women's Sports Foundation's Journalism Award by the San Francisco chapter of the National Organization for Women.

Her book “Intangibles” places a primary focus on the concept of team chemistry in sports and whether it leads to winning.

Nancy Wiegman has a master's degree in French linguistics from Indiana University and taught yoga and foreign languages at CSU Fresno and the College of Charleston before moving to Chico in 1990.
