Nancy's Bookshelf: Trauma and loss with 'Birds at Night'

Ibe Liebenberg is a Chickasaw Nation citizen living in Chico. He's a state firefighter and a lecturer at Chico State. He's got an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in poetry and fiction.

His writing has been published in places like Poetry magazine and The Threepenny Review.

His book, "Birds at Night: Poems," is his first book-length collection of poetry, exploring themes of loss, trauma, PTSD, and familial relationships.

Nancy Wiegman has a master's degree in French linguistics from Indiana University and taught yoga and foreign languages at CSU Fresno and the College of Charleston before moving to Chico in 1990.
