A local group working to restore the El Rey Theater in downtown Chico has secured help from a major donor, but organizers still have a long way to go.

According to updates from his extended family, the 5-year-old shooting victim is struggling to fully recover and has not been able to move his legs since being hospitalized.

Several organizers are working to raise money and collect items for the victims of the Feather River Adventist School shooting.

The coalition hopes to raise enough funds to continue helping the local felines for another year. It is now planning its annual Moonlight Meows online auction.
