Demonstrators gathered to rally against President Donald Trump and federal immigration authorities as part of nationwide “ICE Out For Good” protests on Friday Jan. 23, 2026, in downtown Chico.

At least 150 people gathered in downtown Chico on Friday to protest President Donald Trump and his administration’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The protest was part of a national movement called “ICE Out For Good,” which was put together following the killing of 37-year-old Renee Good in Minneapolis by an ICE officer earlier this month.

The demonstration in Chico saw people carrying signs lamenting Good’s death and criticizing Trump and his administration’s hardline immigration policies. It follows earlier coordinated demonstrations in Chico, the broader North State and nationwide.

President Donald Trump has described the shooting as self-defense. But state and local leaders in Minnesota are calling for a full and transparent investigation.
