CapRadio is set to end operations of North State Public Radio on November 30. Chico State Enterprises posted job listings for the Chico station and is encouraging current employees to apply.

Redding’s PBS station has lost nearly half its budget after federal cuts and says it needs new support soon to stay on the air.

CapRadio Board Members approved the end of its operating agreements with NSPR and KHSU. The Sacramento-based station plans to transfer both public radio stations to their license holders by November.

Management of NSPR in Chico and KHSU in Humboldt County would return to their individual license holders, Chico State Enterprises and Cal Poly Humboldt, respectively.

Thomas Fleming wasn't born in Chico, but he has a connection to the town. He's famous for co-founding one of the first Black newspapers in San Francisco that's still in circulation, but he got his start writing for Chico student papers.
